Week 1 - IT Security

Wythnos 1 - Diogelwch Rhyngrwyd

Rydym wrth ein bodd i gymryd y cyfle hwn i'ch croesawu i'n hadran ni. Bydd y dudalen hon yn cynnal gweithgareddau i chi eu cwblhau wrth baratoi ar gyfer eich astudiaethau gyda ni ym mis Medi.

Bydd y gweithgareddau isod yn gyfle gwych i chi gael blas ar y cwrs a rhai o’r meysydd y byddwch yn eu harchwilio.

Bydd hwn hefyd yn gyfle gwych i ni ddod i adnabod ein gilydd ac i chi ddechrau cwrdd â rhai o’r dysgwyr a fydd yn astudio gyda chi yn ein hadran.

We are excited to take this opportunity to welcome you to our department. This page will host activities for you to complete in preparation for your studies with us in September.

The activities below will be an excellent opportunity for you to get a flavour of the course and some of the areas that you will be exploring.

This will also be a good opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to start to meet some of the learners who will be studying with you in our department.

Bydd tiwtor a fydd yn gweithio gyda chi dros 4 wythnos y rhaglen yn cysylltu â chi. Bydd eich tiwtor yn cysylltu â chi drwy’r cyfeiriad e-bost rydych wedi ei roi i’r coleg.

Dyma ble byddwch yn gallu siarad yn uniongyrchol â’ch tiwtoriaid a gofyn unrhyw gwestiynau y gall fod gennych.

Bydd staff yn gallu eich arwain drwy’r gwaith isod a rhoi adborth wrth i chi fynd yn eich blaen.

Keeping in Touch!

You will be contacted by a tutor who will be working with you over the 4 weeks of the programme. Your tutor will contact you via the email address that you have provided to the college.

This will be where you can talk directly with your tutors and to ask any questions that you may have.

Staff will be able to guide you through the work below and give feedback as you go.

Mae’r gweithgareddau a fydd yn cael eu cynnal dros y pedair wythnos nesaf isod. Bydd eich tiwtor yn cysylltu â chi bob wythnos drwy Chat i roi gwybod i chi beth sydd angen i chi ei wneud a phryd i ddechrau a phryd i gwblhau pob adran.

Below are the activities that will be taking place over the next four weeks. Your tutor will contact you each week via email to let you know what you need to do and when to start and when to complete each section.

WYTHNOS 1 - Wythnos sy’n dechrau dydd Llun 22ain Mehefin

WEEK 1 - Week beginning Monday 22nd June

Week 1 - IT Systems Security - Data Firewalls:

The Leaning Objectives for week 1 will be the following:

LO1 - The main different types of data firewall

LO2 - The Purpose of a data firewall

LO3 - Basic understanding of how a data firewall stops unauthorised access to a private network

Tutor Introduction video:

I Have outlined Week 1's topic and I have also outlined the student activity to be completed in my tutor introduction video. ( bottom left video )

If you look at the introduction video first, then read through the Google slides presentation and then look at the 'YouTube video.

Student assessment will be completed by you answering all 7 of the questions below and submitting the form. I hope you enjoy this weeks activity and hopefully will see you all in September ! Jason......
