Greetings!
The students, staff, and administration of Cherokee High School welcome you to our website. We are confident that you will find the information on this site useful and that you will learn more about what makes Cherokee High School a wonderful place to learn.
Cherokee High School was founded in 1925 as Cherokee Vocational High School as it was the first designated vocational school in Colbert County. The name has since been changed to Cherokee High School. The first graduating class consisted of 22 students. The most recent class consisted of 34 graduating students.
Our school provides a strong academic foundation for students that want to further their education after graduation, including offering dual enrollment classes through Northwest Shoals Community College and the University of North Alabama. We also offer a variety of certifications that are invaluable to those that would like to enter the work force after graduation through our Career Tech classes in Agriculture, Business, CNA and Fire Science,
Cherokee High School has a dedicated and experienced staff that want to help our students succeed. We embrace the challenges of our world today and celebrate the traditions of the past. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and challenging educational environment that promotes learning and achievement for all students. The faculty and staff strive to work with our community, parents and students in order to make Cherokee High School a wonderful, unique place to grow and learn.
As a graduate (Class of 1982) parent of graduates (Sarah Beth-C/O 2009 and Samantha-C/O 2015) and the principal (2014-present) I would like to offer my assistance should you have any questions concerning Cherokee High School.
