Google Certified Educators Level 1 are tasked with showing mastery on GSuite Apps. The Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District (COJUSD) Google Certified Student Program mirrors the performance tasks for the GSuite Apps most relevant for students. This program is provided free of charge and students are certified by Google Certified Trainer Mr. Adam Juarez. A Level 2 certification has was launched in Fall 2019. Our end goal is to have seniors take the official Google Certified Educator Level 1 Exam.

Participants are entered into a Google Classroom where there is an assignment for seven GSuite apps including Calendar, YouTube, Sites, Gmail, Drive, Docs and Slides. Students learn by doing own research or watching how-to videos on the Cardinal Innovation Center YouTube channel. To show mastery, students submit screencasts of them doing each performance task using Chrome Extension Screencastify before performing the tasks live with Tech Coach Juarez.
