If you plan to study in the UK, you will likely need to apply through UCAS. Make sure you set up an account here and link it to our school using the buzzword.
If you need help, speak to your form tutor or DP Coordinator
UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, is an independent charity and the UK's shared admissions service for higher education.
Make sure you sign up with your personal email and not your school email. This is because you will lose access to your school email once you finish DP2 and will then not be able to receive any futher communications from UCAS after that.
With UCAS, local and international students can:
Explore options: Unsure of what to do with your life or what your next steps are? Use UCAS's information on careers, apprenticeships and university to explore what routes are available and which one is right for you.
Choose what and where to study: Take the careers quiz, research different career paths and study locations, find out about different colleges, universities and apprenticeships and what they are like.
Apply: Once you have decided your path, you can apply to up to 5 UK institutions in one application. Manage your application, including predicted grades and your reference, though the UCAS application portal.
Find accommodation: Find advice on where to live and how to apply for accommodation, as well as accessing support when you are there.
Download the UCAS International app to search courses, find accommodation information and to research universities in a variety of languages.
For courses starting in September 2025:
For music conservatoires, the deadline for applications is 2nd October (18:00 GMT). Applications for dance, drama, and musical theatre courses may have a different deadline – check conservatoires’ websites for information.
If you are planning on applying for medicine, veterinary science/medicine, dentistry or to Oxford or Cambridge for any courses, the deadline is 15th October (18:00 GMT). A number of these courses also require entrance tests so make sure the school is aware so that we can ensure you are set up.
For all other courses and universities, the equal consideration deadline is 29th January (18:00 GMT). Up until this deadline, your application is guaranteed to be looked at. After this date, you can still apply but courses do get full and there is no guarantee the university will look at your application.
Offers for courses may be shown as UCAS tariff points. The table here shows what each IB grade is worth in terms of these points.
You can also add your qualifications to the points calculator here.
