Bachelor of Science Texas A&M University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Class of 1993
Howdy! Welcome to biology class!
I am so excited about the chance to teach your child this year and enrich their lives with my love and knowledge of science.
Please allow me to introduce myself. This is my 23rd year of teaching, all of which has been here in COCISD. I am a graduate of Texas A&M University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. I am a certified Science teacher as well as a certified Ag teacher. I enjoy spending time with my husband of 30 years and our two sons, both of are graduates of Coldspring High School. Peyton is a young adult rocking the working world in the refined oil business and is working and planning to retire by the time he is 50! Hayden is an aspiring and inspiring professional bull rider in the PRCA and PBR, you can catch him on the Cowboy Channel or stop by Wayne's tire and get his autograph. We also enjoy and compete in team roping and helping out at our local county fair and rodeo.
I am a Coldspring native and started my education in this very district at Lincoln Elementary which is now Lincoln Jr. High. This community and the students in it are an important part of my purpose here. I look forward to enriching their lives with my experiences and sharing with them my knowledge of science. I want to extend a warm welcome and an open door to you and your child.
This year you child will be learning concepts in cells, dna, biotechnology, plants, animals, and our biosphere. Biology is one of the five tested courses required for graduation and we will be taking the STAAR (State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness) end of course exam at the end of the spring semester.
I will expect your child to attend class daily, bring their supplies each day, and to put forth their greatest effort in all that they do. Together we will be successful!
Please feel free to contact me about any concerns you may have.
