We've all experienced the cold--whether by choice or circumstance. Polk Warming exists to provide a place of warmth, safety, and hospitality on our coldest nights. We are a community effort of churches, government, and neighbors partnering for the common good.
The Polk County Warming Centers are emergency shelters open on a rotating and temporary basis. We are committed to low barriers and open to all residents of our county who are in need of a safe and warm space for the night. Families and pets welcome.
Between November 1st -March 31st is the season of the Polk County Warming Centers. The centers will open on nights where it is forecasted to reach 32 F or below.
Warming Center locations do change. For current location or transportation please call (503) 949-4987.
