Print double-sided if permitted by your professor.
If possible, use a tablet or laptop to take notes. As college students, notebooks can fill up rapidly causing students to have to purchase more overtime. Many notebook covers are not recyclable and end up in landfills. Tablets can be expensive, so also look into purchasing notebooks made out of post-consumer recycled paper or refillable notebooks that allow you to add paper when the time comes to avoid purchasing new notebooks as often.
Buy used textbooks or rent them! Check out the CNU Book Exchange page on Facebook for students who are trying to sell books. Additionally, Captain's Locker, ThriftBooks, Amazon, and several other common book carriers for CNU have the option to buy used or rent. These books are often cheaper and overall, you will save paper by extending the life of these books past one owner. If you take good enough care of the books, they can often be sold again.
