I am returning to Cheyenne Mountain School district for my 29th year, following a year in "semi-retirement". I have taught 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade classes at Canon Elementary, Skyway Elementary, and CMJH over the last 30 years. I developed the Cheyenne Creek Conservation Club for students in 1996, and am involved in several community organizations as a volunteer. My two adult children are both CM grads, and my wife is also a D-12 teacher. I like to sepnd my free time volunteering, camping, fishing, traveling with my family, or gardening. I also am an amateur local historian and genealogist.
As we go through the year, there are many assignments and messages on Google Classroom, most of which relate to homework assignments and virtual labs, which need to be completed before the end of each unit. Please check to see that your child can show you the completed lab and has "turned it it" online. Remind them that they must use their school Google account to access it, and they must continue to follow all school rules for internet use under their account.
Thanks in advance for your support.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS::IF you are absent for ANY Reason, be sure to check your email and your Google Classroom daily. IF we are planning to meet online, remember to click the link in your google classroom at the TIME of your class and get logged in before class begins. I can also Google Meet with you during my prep period if you send me a request far AHEAD of time. I am also almost always on campus by 7:30 a.m. to meet with you before school, if needed, and leave by 11:00 AM.
Also, be sure to check your Google Classroom link frequently for the most current assignments, notes, study guides, and more. If they are not in the above folder, they are probably loaded to your Google Classroom.

I see Science as an organized set of information, and a set of specific ways to collect information about phenomenon in our world and attempt to seek answers and explain anything that is observable and/or measurable. Our understanding of things in Science is constantly growing and changing, and while it may never explain everything, it does explain many things well. All humans are scientists to one degree or another from birth.
