We at Clayton Huey are so excited to welcome back all of our students for the 2018-2019 school year! We are very eager to meet our incoming Kindergarten class, and welcome back our new leaders of the school, our 5th grade class. This year will be filled with fun and exciting activities and lessons for every student. A huge thank you goes out to our custodians, buildings and grounds staff, secretarial staff, and teachers for working hard over the summer in preparation of the new school year. Please be sure to check back on this website throughout the school year to see images of all of the amazing things going on at Clayton Huey. We are so proud to share all of our students' accomplishments.
What an AMAZING start to a school year we've bee having at Clayton Huey. Not only have our students jumped right in to their classes and are already working hard, but today we were so fortunate to spend some time with Mr. Jamel Hudson who helped us kick off our Huey's Heroes Character Education program. Mr. Hudson spoke to students about being a good person, making good decisions and being R.E.A.L. (Respectful, Educated, Accepting of others, and a Leader). What an awesome message for our students to hear, and his presentation was jam packed with music, dancing, and even back flips! Thank you Mr. Hudson for an amazing morning!
In addition, today, thanks to our amazing PTA, every student at Clayton Huey will be coming home with a "Kindness Begins with Me" t-shirt designed by our character education committee. The students will be wearing these shirts every Friday for our Friendship Friday celebration!
What a great kickoff to an amazing weekend of celebrating Center Moriches School District and all of its amazing students. On Friday, our students participated in the elementary school's Pep Rally! We had amazing performances from our band, performances by not only the high school cheerleading squad, but also from the elementary student cheerleaders as well! The CM boys and girls soccer team even showed up to give away t-shirts, and we learned a little bit about what it takes to have Center Moriches pride. A big thank you goes out to Mr. Russo for emceeing the event!
We are so excited to finally be able to utilize our new Science Lab space! The students have begun working on some science experiments and getting DIRTY! There is no experience like having the ability to complete hands-on projects in school. Shout out to Mrs. Magee/Ms. Tyson's classes and Mrs. Englehardt's classes for the awesome photos! Keep up the great work :)
A huge thank you goes out to the Center Moriches Fire Department for coming to the school to teach our students about fire safety. We were so proud of the students as well for their work in the Fire Safety Poster Contest! Below are the names of the winners from each grade. Congratulations!
