Thank you to all of our families who came out tonight for our Family Movie Night! We had such a great time watching a classic holiday flick, "Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer"!! What a special night bundled up in our comfy cozy clothes with our family and friends.
On Monday and Tuesday of this past week our children were able to learn important safety information from the LIRR's "TRACKS" program. Students learned about safety signals, the roles and responsibilities of the staff members on the train, and what to do in the event of an emergency.
Over the past few years, our fourth grade students have engaged in a series of in-school field trips to teach them information about live oceanic animals. Here of some shots of our first date in our new Science Lab!
The holiday season is always more special when we spend it with our families. Thank you to all of the families who came out for our first grade holiday celebrations! What an awesome way to celebrate our kids creativity and holiday spirit!
On December 11, select 5th Grade musicians traveled to Gentle Hearts Preschool in Center Moriches where they performed Christmas Carols for the students and their families. They had a blast singing, playing, eating holiday cookies, and doing crafts with the preschoolers. Gentle Hearts owner, Mrs. Ellen Frazzetta, and Clayton Huey's, Ms. D'Orio, were so excited that this was our 3rd annual event! Thank you to Mrs. Ellen and Gentle Hearts for having us, we can't wait til next year!
The holiday season seems to always bring out the best in everyone. Some of our teachers love finding ways to make the holidays special for our students, while infusing new and exciting information about different cultures and other holidays. What a great way to kick off the season!
Sometimes, we all need to take a second to realize the potential in each of our students. This special young lady worked hard last week to earn some time with Mrs. Hardwick..... and Mrs. Hardwick benefited from her hard work as well! What a great moment.
We would also like to send a huge shout out to our cafeteria staff who generously went out of their way to make the holidays special for all of our students with this amazing display. Every day is special in a building where every staff member believes that school is an amazing place not only for kids to learn, but also to GROW!
