A huge shout out goes to Mrs. Kingston and Mrs. Sanfilippo's class. Having the opportunity to watch them share information they researched about people who "Fought for a Cause" through history to allow others to have a better life was so interesting! The students had such a depth of knowledge about their historical figures, and did an excellent job presenting this information to the class through use of a Google slides presentation with embedded videos. They even made their own digital timelines!
The amazing talents of our students continues to shine every day at Clayton Huey. On May 18th, our 4th and 5th grade students put on an amazing in-school concert for us. They blew us away with their choral and instrumental skills, and gave our 3rd grade students something to think about when considering musical groups to join next year!
As if Monday wasn't enough evidence to show the artistic abilities of our students, Tuesday night we celebrated our K-5 students with an art presentation and musical performances at the Clayton Huey Art Show! The student's were able to show off their spectacular art work and display their skills for all of the community. Thank you to all who came out to show your support, and a huge thank you to Ms. Blumberg for her efforts in creating such an amazing display of the students work. Also, a special thank you to Ms. D'Orio and Ms. Basile in preparing the students for their solos and group performances to make the night even more special.
Our students continue to amaze us every day with our talent. On Monday, our 4th and 5th grade band and chorus students performed for a packed house at Center Moriches High School. The students truly wowed the audience with their amazing abilities in the arts. A special thank you also goes out to Ms. D'Orio and Ms. Basile for their efforts in preparing the students for this special night.
What better way to kick off Teacher Appreciation Week than to have the generous members of our staff and community come to decorate the doors of their favorite teachers! The hallways of Clayton Huey have never looked brighter. Thank you to all of you who came out to support our amazing teachers and helped to decorate their doors. But the biggest thanks goes to our teachers for being so amazing and working so hard to make sure our students get the best education possible every day! Thank you for all that you do!
Thank you to all of the families who came out to the board meeting on Wednesday to support our Arts Department. We were so proud of the students who performed to show off the amazing talent at Clayton Huey and throughout the district. Our talented musicians continue to amaze us with their passion for the arts. Special recognition also goes out to Ms. D'Orio and Ms. Basile for their hard work in preparing our students for their performances.
Any student at Clayton Huey knows how special a teacher Ms. Craig is every day. At the board meeting, we had the privilege as a school community to recognize her hard work and dedication to not only our students but in supporting our staff as well. Thank you for all you do Ms. Craig!
Here are some pictures of Ms. Larsen's students during their Cinco De Mayo celebration! What fun they were having with their maracas dancing mariachi!
Thank goodness the warm weather is back!! What a great opportunity to get our community garden up and running. Ms. Smeja, Ms. Englehardt, and Ms. Russo's classes took the opportunity to get their hands dirty and make Clayton Huey green! We all can't wait to see what amazing things you planted!
