As if our year could be filled with more fun and laughter, we were so excited to have our 4th and 5th grade student leaders putting their best foot forward for our first S.T.E.A.M. event on Wednesday, June 20th. The students participated in challenges and activities that incorporated aspects of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics in a day that ended with Mr. Ricci getting soaked with water!! Congratulations to Nancy Boyd for being honored at this past Board of Education meeting as Paraprofessional of the Year! We are so proud to work with such a genuinely kind hearted individual that does nothing but care for our students on a daily basis. A well deserved honor!
Congratulations to our 5th grade class on their moving up ceremony last night. The night was a great success, and we are so proud of all of your accomplishments this year. We can't wait to see you come back to Clayton Huey to let us know about all of your achievements in the future! Good luck in the Middle School!!!
Flag day is a holiday in our country that is often overlooked, but not at Clayton Huey. We showed our pride in our country with our Flag Day celebration. Students sang patriotic songs, did sign language to those songs, and gave information and facts about our amazing country. Thank you to all of the parents who came out to support our students!
Quack, Quack, Quack! Thank you to all of the students who came out to represent Clayton Huey at the Long Island Ducks baseball game! The game was a great success, and our band performers did an amazing job!
We are so proud of all of our students, but when some of our youngsters go above and beyond, we cannot help but recognize them. On Thursday, many of our students were celebrated for having completed over 25 book reviews this school year. They got to have some extra recess time and Mr. Softee as part of their celebration. Great job to all of our students for your continued academic success!
Our PTA continues to amaze with their support for our students. On Thursday, June 14th, our 4th grade students got together for the PTA carnival! The students had an absolute blast with all of the fun activities that were set up for them.
The summer time vibes were in full effect at our 5th grade Luau on Friday, June 8th. Our 5th grade students danced and partied with their friends in their Hawaiian shirts and dresses in a night filled with fun and excitement. They were even able to take group pictures on a surf board in a photo booth! Thank you to the PTA parents who helped to organize the event and to the teachers who were able to attend.

What an amazing day for our students today as we all got together as a community for our annual Field Day! The kids did an amazing job participating in competitive activities, challenging themselves and others in the 4th and 5th grade marathons, but the best part was the support they received from their friends and family members who came out to cheer them on. Thank you to Mr. Russo and Mr. Howland for organizing yet another amazing day for our students. The entire staff worked diligently to make this day special for our students. We were so glad to see them have such a great time.
Our second 8:1:1 reunion was a huge success! On Tuesday June 5th, the High School and Middle School classes walked over to where it all started for some of them, Clayton Huey Elementary School. The students were reunited with teachers and paraprofessionals they haven't seen in years! It was amazing and uplifting to see students we had in kindergarten reminiscing to the time they spent in the elementary school and watching them interact with their new friends. This was truly one of the the most rewarding days all year.
It was incredible to see our new kindergarten students right up to our 5th graders welcoming the older kids to their school and watch the interaction begin! They greeted each other, played on the playground and heard about the memories that were formed in the Center Moriches School District. The students had a smile on their faces that was contagious to all that was there.
