My name is Wanda Underwood.  I am excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher!  I am from Salemburg, North Carolina.  It is a small town in the eastern part of the state.  I graduated from East Carolina University with a BS degree in Early Childhood Education.  I have taught every grade from kindergarten through sixth grade but my passion is kindergarten.  I have taught for thirty  years with sixteen  of those years in kindergarten at Olde Providence.  This is my seventeenth year at Olde Providence.

My husband, Phil, and I have four children.  We have a son, Will, who is married to Leah Parker.  Leah is a second grade teacher at Olde Providence.  They have a four year old son, Kayden, and they have a daughter, Sydney, who is three.   Our daughter, Karen, is married to Andy and they live in West Virginia.  She is a speech pathologist for Greenbrier County Schools. They have a daughter, Anna Hayes, who is two yeasr old.  Our daughter, Anna, lives in Charlotte and works at our church.   My youngest daughter, Faith, lives and works in Charleston, South Carolina.  Anna and Faith went to school at Olde Providence.  My favorite things are reading and the beach.  I am a happy girl when I am at the beach with a book in my hand!
