Coping Skills

What Are They?

Ways to manage stress and anxiety properly!

This tab is for students to find tools and strategies for managing their emotions and feelings.....................

Coping skills are things that we can do in-the-moment, when we are feeling lousy, feeling stressed, feeling anxious, or feeling angry. They help us manage our emotions by turning them down and avoid getting overwhelmed. They help us to not go from    "0 to 10". Coping skills helps us get through stressful situations with a little more ease, and without doing something we'd regret later on.

Emotional regulation refers to our ability to control our own emotions.  We can chose to either control our emotions or let our emotions control us.  When we allow our emotions to control us, we tend to feel and act without thinking.  When we finally do think we often wish we had acted differently.  One way to regulate your emotions is to learn and use self soothing (coping )skills .
