About Ms. Hobbins:

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am a Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan! I have a Siberian Husky, Zoya. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics for Secondary Education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). 

I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina in 2014 to begin my teaching career. This is my twelth year teaching Math and it is my seventh year teaching at Hopewell High School. I am excited to teach NC Math 3, CIE AS-Level Maths (9709) and CIE A-Level Maths (9709)  for the 2025-2026 School Year! 

I was recognized as Hopewell's Teacher of the Year (2024-2025)!

Since 2019, I have been one of the Sponsors for Hopewell's National Beta Club.  

During the 2021-2022 school year, I received the Hopewell Award for Hope for the JROTC Hopewell Heroes and 2022 Teacher Superlative "Most likely to bring their pet to school."

I was nominated as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction during the 2020-2021 school year.
