I am, Melanee Friday, an Assistant Principal at Governors' Village STEM Academy leading 7th Grade, the Counseling and Support Services and Electives teams. I have been in CMS for 25 years. This is my 3rd year at GVSA. I was born and raised in Charlotte. Upon graduating from North Mecklenburg High School, I continued my studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Later, I earned a Master of Science degree in Organizational Change and Leadership from Pfeiffer University. I obtained my School Administration License from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. My husband and I are the proud parents of 2 adult daughters, a son-in-love and twin grandbabies, a girl and a boy. When I am not serving the students at GVSA, I enjoy decorating, shopping, volunteering and pageantry. My favorite quote is, "To whom much is given, much is required" Luke 12:48. I am excited to continue serving the entire GVSA school community!
