All About Mme Croker

My name is Stéphanie Croker and I am a native of Belgium. I am married and have a daughter studying at Eastern Carolina University. I also have a cat named Savannah and a Shiba Inu (Japanese breed) dog named Bailey. During my free time, I enjoy traveling, hiking, kayaking, taking care of my friend's horses, and spending time with my family.  I also have a big passion for protecting and saving wildlife. Thus, when I see an animal that is injured or an orphaned baby animal that is helpless, I will take it to the wildlife rescue center.

This is my 26th year teaching in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools.  I started my teaching career as a 2nd and 3rd grade French Immersion teacher at our sister school in South Charlotte (1995-2004) and taught Kindergarten and 2nd grade in a traditional school for twelve years. Teaching is a big passion of mine. When I am around young children, I just get a spark and they ignite my heart with so much joy, love, and excitement! They enrich my heart and soul!

I graduated from Hiram College in Ohio in 1995 with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Music (I played the flute and the piano).   I have been a National Board Certified Teacher (World Languages Other than English (French)/Early-Middle Childhood) since 2002.  I was recognized as Outstanding Math Teacher of the Year during the 2018-2019 school year.  During the 2019-2020 school year, I was recognized as Teacher of the Year at the school level, and I was a finalist as Teacher of the Year for the Northwest Learning Community. During the 2023-2024 school year, I was recognized as Teacher of the Year at the school level, as well as named Teacher of the Year for the North Learning Community. Additionally, I was in the top 11 finalists as CMS District Teacher of the Year.
