Hello All! My name is Laura O'Shea and a relatively recent transplant from NY to Charlotte, NC. I hold an undergraduate degree in Art History and Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook and a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Touro College. With a strong passion for supporting children, families, and school staff, I am dedicated to creating strategies that enhance student well-being and success in the classroom.
My approach to school-based occupational therapy is rooted in a whole-child perspective, often incorporating movement, mindfulness, and sensory regulation techniques inspired by my personal interests in hiking, yoga, and spending time outdoors. I believe that these practices can offer meaningful tools to help students stay grounded, focused, and confident in their learning environments.
Outside of school, I love cooking for family and friends, traveling to new places, and diving into a good book. I’m also a proud parent of three adult children who are each out in the world living their best lives. I am continually inspired by exploration—whether it’s in nature, new cultures, or the creative ways we can support students in school communities.
