Hi, I’m Nicole. I have worked for the past 24+ years in pediatrics evaluating and treating children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorders, handwriting difficulties, attentional concerns, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, prematurity, failure to thrive, neonatal abstinence syndrome, medically complex (stroke, feeding tubes, tracheotomies, immunocompromised, cancer, etc.), variety of genetic/chromosomal disorders, and global developmental delays.
I have enjoyed collaborating and performing co-treatments with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, developmental therapists/teachers, dietitians, to assist with meeting the child’s and family’s goals. I look forward to being able to collaborate and being a part of the student’s team within the school setting.
My desire is to help students be their very best within the school setting and to pursue their interests outside of school in their community and at home.
I prefer to use playful and fun activities to build a relationship with the children while making this interaction therapeutic in nature.
Originally from Long Island, New York, I lived in Connecticut for over 22 years before making the move to North Carolina with my husband 2 years ago. Most recently residing in Raleigh, we just relocated to Charlotte. I am looking forward to making connections with new colleagues and friends, settling down in the community I live and work in, and exploring this amazing city and the surrounding area.
Nicole Casa
