North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University

The Professional Accounting Career Exploration (PACE) Summer Camp is returning to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University from July 14-19, 2024.


PACE is a 5-day free residential program for rising high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in accounting, finance, or other areas of business. Hosted by the prestigious North Carolina A&T State University with support from the Deloitte Foundation, PACE offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience and explore the accounting profession in a fun and interactive way. We would love for your students to attend this program.

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

Project Uplift is a summer enrichment and college access program designed to promote and increase access to higher education for rising high school seniors, especially those underrepresented in postsecondary education. Every summer, approximately 1,000 high school seniors participate in one of multiple Project Uplift sessions. Participants learn about the college admissions process, interact with faculty, staff, and current students, and participate in educational, cultural, and social activities.

For over 50 years, Project Uplift has consistently provided a diverse selection of rising high school seniors from across the United States with an opportunity to live, lead, and learn about the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a first-hand basis.

College LAUNCH for Leadership

The Wake Forest College LAUNCH for Leadership Program is a free nine-month college prep, social justice, and leadership development program for high school juniors in Winston-Salem, Charlotte, and the surrounding communities.

College LAUNCH Scholars will learn what it takes to open the doors to higher education, prepare for their futures, develop a critical understanding of historic and ongoing social injustices within their communities, and further grow their leadership skills.

Wake Forest Pre-College Program

The Wake Forest Summer Immersion Program application opens annually on November 1st for the following summer. To apply, students must create a student portal account and submit a completed application. To be considered for the Summer Immersion Program, students must meet all eligibility requirements and submit all required application components.

EXPLORE CENTRAL PIEDMONT: SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

 

Graduating high school seniors, Summer Bridge helps you jump start your college career and get a head start on your college classes the summer after you graduate high school.

9With Summer Bridge, enroll and earn up to seven college credit hours at Central Piedmont for six weeks in the summer. This helps you successfully transition from high school to college in a closed, structured, and supervised environment.


NEXT SUMMER BRIDGE DATES - June 17 - July 26, 2024


Classes are held Monday–Thursday, 8 a.m.–1:05 p.m.; two additional mandatory activities are held on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. –11:00 a.m.

EXPLORE CENTRAL PIEDMONT: COLLEGE CONNECTIONS 

College Connection is a program offered by Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) that allows seniors in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system to have priority registration at the college combined with personalized guidance throughout the entire enrollment process.  The program allows seniors to tailor their class schedule around home and work.

Unlike high school class registration, the earlier you register for college classes at CPCC, the more likely you are to get the classes you want at the times and locations that fit best with your schedule.  College Connection gives you the opportunity to register for your classes before the rest of the college, giving you a leg up in the process!

STEPS TO ENROLL

Give yourself plenty of time to enroll based on when you want to start classes — know when classes start and when you can register for classes. 

Step 1:  Determine Your State Residency

The amount of tuition you pay is based on whether you are considered an in-state or out-of-state student.

Check or establish your state residency  Use the same log in that you use for CFNC.org

Step 2:  Apply for Admission/Send Transcript

Complete the Central Piedmont admissions application.  If you do not receive an email with your student ID number within one business day after submitting your application, please contact CPCC.

Step 3:  Create Your Central Piedmont Login

Create your Central Piedmont login. Your login will work in all of our systems after 6–24 hours. It will work right away only in the Central Piedmont login menu.

 

Step 4:  Activate your CPCC email (activate after completing step #3)


Step 5. Submit all transcripts to Student Records

Sending Electronic Transcripts to Central Piedmont: 

Sign In to CFNC.org ->Click on Apply -> Application Hub->

Click on Request Transcript -> Confirm your Information -> Type in Central Piedmont Community College in Search bar->

click on CPCC ->Make sure CPCC is selected in the Selected Schools section. -> Click on Request My Transcript


Step 6. Apply for Financial Aid

Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (2023-2024 FAFSA)

Step 7:  Recommended: Complete the Academic Works Scholarship Application. Log in to the scholarships portal and complete the general scholarship application. Portal opened on November 14th.


Step 8. Attend Orientation and Get Advised

Schedule orientation at College Connection Advising   Must pick the Virtual Session for location.


Step 9. Register and Pay for Classes, and Complete Next Steps

Review your next steps after applying, such as registering and paying for classes, buying books, 

and getting a parking pass & student ID card. You can register for classes through MyCollege or the Central Piedmont app.

UNC SYSTEM VIRTUAL OPEN HOUSE

The UNC System is hosting its fourth annual Virtual Open House for prospective students, families, and high school counselors to learn more about the 16 UNC System universities.

During the week of October 2, 2023 a series of four virtual sessions will be hosted via Zoom Webinar. Admissions Counselors from each institution will share helpful information about the admissions process and current students from each university will share about their college experience and answer your questions live.

If you are a rising high school Junior, Senior, Early or Middle College student (first-year), this event is for you!

Each session will be recorded and posted below after the event takes place

At Explore Meredith you’ll speak with faculty, staff, and students about academics and campus life. You’ll learn about the application and scholarship process as well as financial assistance. You’ll also learn more about StrongPoints®, Meredith’s distinctive advising and personal coaching model, and how Meredith will make you even stronger.

The opening session begins promptly at 9:00 a.m.; check-in between 8:30 and 8:55 a.m. Explore Meredith ends at approximately 2:00 p.m. Please plan to attend the entire day. Lunch will be provided.
