THE MYEP MISSION: To provide all Charlotte youth with equitable career development opportunities to explore the world of work, build social capital, and enhance economic mobility.
Junior, Senior or Grade 13
3.0 Weighted GPA
Be at least 16 years old on or before April 15th, 2024
If the 16th birthday is after April 15th, 2024 then a student may apply next year
Have a Social Security Card and a valid current North Carolina photo ID or a Government Issued ID.
(Undocumented student can take the training but cannot be placed in the MYEP. We are working to address this as a program)
Be eligible for employment in the U.S.
Complete an online application, resume, and interview
Successfully pass a drug screening and background check
Are generally six-weeks (6) in duration (can be adjusted to fit employer’s needs).
Students work at least 25 hours per week (for a total of 150 hours), at a minimum rate of $10.00 per hour.
Students are monitored closely throughout the summer by the MYEP staff.
In some cases, our student are available to continue work for the host employer throughout the school year.
As a participant in MYEP, students will receive job mentoring, coaching and valuable hands-on experience with one of our business partners

Complete Cato MCHS Application by 9/21/23. This takes less than three minutes. NOTE: Make sure you sign up for the REMIND code located in this google form. AND, upload your Resume in the MYEP Remind.
Step 2: ONLY New students to MYEP complete Step 2 AND ONLY sign up for a Saturday Session because we will not be in school during the week of October 9-13
