CENTRAL MOUNTAINS AND PLAINS SECTION
The Central Mountains and Plains Section of The Wildlife Society (CMPS) is a recognized section, or regional network, of The Wildlife Society (TWS) in North America.
CMPS is part of an educational and scientific society established to encourage proper management of all wildlife in the geographical area of CMPS, the ecosystems in which they live, and the other natural resources of the region in a manner that reflects sound biological principles and benefits to wildlife and humans.
CMPS promotes networking, cooperative efforts, and the exchange of information among wildlife professionals and TWS chapters across the states of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.

Improving Administration: Revised Bylaws, created a new board structure to more effectively include all State Chapters, created a CMPS Operations Manual to improve Board functioning.
Facilitating Connections: Improving communication between State Chapter Leadership within CMPS and CMPS Board to discover shared priorities and challenges.
Supporting TWS Members: Providing Wayne Sandfort Student Travel Grant Applications and the Certification Program Grant.
Engaging on Conservation Issues: Contacting decision-makers on issues affecting species/habitat conservation and providing science-based perspectives.
