Individual Counseling

School Counselors may provide short-term, solution focused Individual Counseling.

Counseling Small Groups

*Parent Consent will be obtained before students participate in Counseling Groups*

In Small Groups, children who share a common concern meet together with the Counselor to receive support through talking, learning, and sharing. Students are usually comforted by the discovery that other children are also navigating the challenges of school and of growing up.

Topics include friendships, behavior support, social skills, conflict resolution, anger management, self control, etc.

Whole Group Lessons

School Counseling Core Curriculum- The counselors teach lessons that meet the Tennessee School Counseling Standards to all students in grades Kindergarten through 5th. Lessons focus on Social & Emotional Learning to include topics such as self-management, self-awareness, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making, etc.

These lessons will be a part of the school's Specials rotation. School Counselors will see each class twice a month.

Military & Family Life Counselor

The Military Family Counselor works with students that have a parent(s) on active duty, guard or reserve status. The Military Family Counselor on site provides non-clinical counseling services in addition to weekly support groups. Group time allows stuents a space to connect and share experiences often common in military families. Group time is a place students can share and express feelings through art, crafts, and stories that help when missing a parent/guardian who may be at a temporary duty station, in the field or a deployment/re-deployment.

If you would like your child to be a part of the Military Family Counselor's Group, please contact a School Counselor.
