Janet joined USC in 2012 and manages various legislative issues impacting the university and its 19 professional schools. She also works closely with USC faculty and staff to promote USC’s academic and research accomplishments. Before joining USC, Ms. Lopez worked for a diverse group of employers to promote early childhood education and health care access for low-income populations. She also worked on K-12 and higher education policy issues for both Governor Schwarzenegger and Governor Davis. Janet is the first in her family to attend college and has been a longstanding volunteer for the Chicano/Latino Youth Leadership Project. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Political Science and History from U.C. Berkeley and a Master in Public Administration (M.P.A) with USC’s Sol Price School of Public Policy. Janet, an English Learner, is a native Californian and grew up in Galt.
