There are many tools available in GSuite for Clyde CISD. The platform is hosted by Google and is web-based meaning it can be accessed anywhere on any device with an internet connection. All changes are saved automatically.
If you are familiar with Microsoft Office 360, GSuite is similar to that. If you are familiar to working on Microsoft Office that has been installed on your computer, this is still like that, but so much more!
Some of the more common tools that are used in GSuite are detailed below. If the app exists in Microsoft, the colors match. Many have apps that can be downloaded on Google Play Store (for Android) and the App Store® (for Apple® iOS® devices).
Help the student login and watch them work.
Get Classroom summaries of their work. You set the how often you receive them.
This is like your computer storage where you save your files, but it is stored in the Cloud. It stores all file types including images, videos and audio files. Students have unlimited storage and can access their files from any device, anywhere they have an internet connection.
A blended learning platform that works with GSuite apps and allows teachers to assign and collect work from students. Classroom creates a paperless environment and saves time providing a way for teachers and students to easily communicate and stay organized.
Google Classroom offers guardian summary emails. This option allows guardians to receive daily or weekly email digests of their child’s activities in Google Classroom, including upcoming or missing work and different assignments posted in each class. This is a great way to help students take ownership over their learning.
If you're familiar with Power Point, this is Google's equivalent. This presentation tool that allows students to collaborate together on the same presentation and easily add images, videos and graphics to tell a story.
Students may be assigned a Google Slide template in Classroom. They can also choose from templates or create their own slide format.
This is Google's version of Word. This word processing tool allows students to create and edit text and paragraphs. Just like any of the GSuite apps, students can collaborate on the same document and teachers can easily provide feedback while students are working.
This spreadsheet tool for analyzing, visualizing and charting data is like Excel. Similar to the other GSuite tools, students can easily share and collaborate in real-time.
Online calendar that integrates with Google Classroom to help students stay on top of assignments and/or appointments.
This tool allows the collection of information from users via a personalized survey or quiz.
