On March 20, 2025, Clubhouse Michigan published this Guidance Document to help Clubhouse colleagues and stakeholders complete the survey. Our goals were to:
✔️ "translate" the questions into ones that make sense to the average user of CMH services, and to
✔️ prompt respondents to share the aspects of their CMH services which they find most important.
For each question on the survey, we've generated some prompts you may want to consider when answering. The most important thing is that you share you genuine experience – both the things about your CMH services that are most important to you to maintain 👍, and the areas where you see room for improvement. 👎
We don't want to put words into your mouth so our prompts are formed as questions. DHHS needs to hear from you!
Clubhouse Michigan Advocacy Priorities
Member/mental health consumer voices should be centered and elevated in all discussions about our public mental health system.
Clubhouses are critical components of the CMH service array and we support growing our existing Clubhouses as well as opening new ones in underserved areas.
Clubhouses must be adequately resourced to be able to serve people both with and without Medicaid.
The largest barriers to adequate service in the CMH system is lack of resources. Attracting and retaining staff, keeping case loads manageable, and ensuring reasonable wait times for services are priorities for our membership.
On February 28, 2025, DHHS released this statement inviting "people currently enrolled in Medicaid and their families, advocacy groups, community-based organizations, federally recognized tribal governments, providers of health care, behavioral health and other interested parties to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in the services and supports provided through the PIHP system."
