Each wristband grants access to unlimited games, cake walk, photo booth, inflatables, and one-time access to First Tee of Fresno, Reptile Ron, and Young Chef Academy Cupcake Decorating. All pre-orders will be available for pick up at Will Call during the carnival. Orders will not be sent home.
ALSO ... Donations to our class basket can still be sumbitted. Our basket theme is "It's Cold Outside ..." The carnival takes place this Friday, Oct. 20. Every little bit helps!
Quarter Ends Friday; Last Day to Submit Assignments is Wednesday (missing assignments, C/Rs, and Re-Do Requests)
Friday, Oct. 20, marks the last day of our first quarter. All missing assignments, correct & returns, and requests for re-do's on tests must be submitted by end of school day Wednesday. The highest score that can be earned from these types of assignments and re-do's is a 70%. ALSO ... Last day for AR points will be this Friday, Oct. 20 (cut-off time of 3:15 p.m.) Please encourage your child to complete any missing work in a timely manner and to get in his or her 25 AR points! Every assignment and point counts! Quarter 1 report cards will go home Friday, Oct. 27.
Sonora Meal/Medication Forms Due Oct. 25; Balance Due Oct. 27
Sonora invoices went home lastweek. The invoice reflects the Live Card fundraiser credit and a PTC donation. Please complete and sign all attached forms and submit by Friday, Oct. 27. My class has a special incentive ... all paperwork turned in by Friday, Oct. 20, will earn Room 26 ... 1,000 CLASS POIINTS! (Money can still be turned in up until Oct. 27. I am using this incentive to encourage students/parents to submit paperwork asap.) Payment plans can also be arranged with Mrs. Sanchez. For assistance, email Mrs. Sanchez at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All meal request and medication forms are due by Wednesday, Oct. 25. Remember, even over-the-counter medications like Tylenol, Benaydryl, and Dramamine, need the Medication at School form completed by a physician. Both forms are attached for your convenience. My personal opinion ... it's always better to be safe than sorry. I have seen kids suffer from allergies and headaches while in Sonora because no medicine could be administered to them. Should you have any questions or concerns about your child's health or well-being, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss.
This Week in Curriculum
In math, we are in the middle of Chapter 1 "Ratios and Rates". We will continue learning about rates, ratio tables, and rate word problems in the coming week. In Language Arts, students have already been assigned lesson 8 of both the vocabulary and spelling sections from the Word Wise workbook. We will complete our first informative (explanatory) essay on hurricanes and tornadoes by the end of the week. During morning work, students will be given time to work on essays for Red Ribbon Week. This year's theme ... "Your Future is Key, So Be Drug Free". All students who complete the assignment will receive a Block BR point. In reading, students will continue to read and work out of our new monthly reading magazine, Scope.
This Week in Rotations
