Hello to all my new 6th graders and their families!  If you aren't familiar with me already, my name is Mrs. Blackstock.  I have been teaching at Jefferson for 9 years. I have taught 1st grade, 4th grade, and 6th grade. I am thrilled to be your teacher this year. 

A quick history of Mrs. Blackstock...

I grew up in Clovis Unified, and I attended Copper Hills, Alta Sierra, and graduated from Buchanan High School in 2006. I attended Clovis Community College and then Fresno State. I graduated with my Bachelors of Science in Criminology, completed my Multiple Subject Credential requirements there, and completed my Master of Arts degree in Education, Curriculum & Instruction in May of 2020. 

My daughter is a former Blue Jay, now attending Clark. My husband, Mr. Blackstock, is a dual enrollment teacher at Avenal High School. He also is the Head Boys Basketball Coach there. Needless to say, basketball season is very busy for us. :)  In October, we are expecting our 2nd daughter, and please be assured that your child will be VERY well taken care of by their long-term sub, who has spent a lot of time at Jefferson!

I am excited to help prepare your student for 7th grade. 6th Grade is a HUGE grade for growth; we are learning more responsibility, organization, and you will see your student mature A LOT over this year.
