Writing: Persuasive

Fundations: Unit 10 - double vowels & homophones

• vowel diagraph - two vowels together make one sound (ee, ea, oa...)

• diphthong -  a sound that begins with one vowel sound and glides into another (oi)

• NOTE: The children do not need to know the difference between diagraphs and diphthongs. They refer to both syllable types as 'D' syllables.

• This unit will focus on ai and ay long /a/ sound and homophones (such as main and mane)

May 19 - No School - Victoria Day
