Fundations: Unit 10 - double vowels & homophones
vowel diagraph - two vowels together make one sound (ee, ea, oa...)
diphthong - a sound that begins with one vowel sound and glides into another (oi)
NOTE: The children do not need to know the difference between diagraphs and diphthongs. They refer to both syllable types as 'D' syllables.
This unit will focus on ai and ay long /a/ sound and homophones (such as main and mane)
