My name is Meredith Cameron MacIsaac, and I am returning from a 1-year secondment at the Department of Education and Early Years as the inaugural Integrated Curriculum coach supporting grade six and five teachers with the new Integrated curriculum, which was rolled out in the 2024-2025 school year. I am back for my 5th year of teaching at West Royalty and excited to be working alongside your children, again!
I have taught several grades and subjects during my career, but I've taught grade five for over sixteen years. Previous to West Royalty, I taught at Stratford Elementary for eight years. Before that, I taught at Souris Consolidated for four years, and Phys. Ed at Belfast Consolidated for a year before that. I loved my time at each school, and I am so excited to be teaching my fourth year here at West Royalty and within my home community.
I began my university career at St.FX, graduating in Psychology & Sociology, and playing varsity soccer for 4 years while there. After returning home, I enrolled in the B.Ed. program at UPEI, where I specialized in International and Early Years Education. During my B. Ed, I played my fifth and final year of varsity with the UPEI Panthers and travelled to Kenya, Africa, to complete my Education degree. In 2013, I graduated with my Master's in Literacy Education from Mount Saint Vincent University.
Soccer has been a passion of mine for some time now. I grew up playing for Winsloe in my early years. I have played and coached at the local, provincial, and national levels. Towards the end of my coaching career, I was the Head Coach for the Holland College Hurricanes Women's soccer team for the first 5 seasons of their varsity designation. I am also a board member for the Winsloe Charlottetown Royals Football Club, and now that I'm a mom, most of my time is spent coaching and cheering from the sidelines, as well as dabbling in a bit of indoor soccer during the off-season.
I am very passionate about teaching and always looking to incorporate new and engaging methods into my practice. I love incorporating technology and new ideas into the classroom. I am really looking forward to being your child's teacher this year!
