Tom Rowland

Special Recognition

Mayor City of Cleveland, TN since 1991

Mayor Tom Rowland has served the City of Cleveland for 27 years as Mayor. There is no finer ambassador for the City of Cleveland than Mayor Rowland. He is and has been a very visible representative, whether it is here in Cleveland, in Nashville as he serves on many committees and organizations, or wherever he may be. He has been very involved with many economic development projects representing Cleveland and wants only the best for the citizens of Cleveland.

He inspires others as he works to bring progress, events and the spotlight to Cleveland. He is very proud of Cleveland and only wants the best for the City with Spirit. When he became Mayor, he set some goals of things he wanted to see happen. That list included a museum, a general aviation airport, a restoration of the depot, a greenway, a three-star community and Tree City USA status, and a memorial for our first responders—all of which have been attained.

Mayor Rowland and his wife, Sandra, are members of First Baptist Church of Cleveland. They have a son, Bob, and two daughters, Carmen and Cynthia (deceased in 2017) and eight grandchildren.
