Here is a list of some resources for summer fun. They are in no particular order. Hope to see you there!

Free Barnes and Noble Book

Barnes and Noble offers a free book for any child who reads 8 books this summer. You can print this form out and give it to your students if you want. They start giving out books on May 15th; so, the would probably need to read early for the best selection of free books.


Sylvan's Book Adventure

Sylvan Learning's Book Adventure program is more than just a summer reading program, because it goes on all year long. It's a great way to motivate kids in grades K-8 to read by earning prizes.

When a child participates in Book Adventure, they get to take quizzes over books they've read and then exchange their quiz points for prizes.

Visit Sylvan Learning's Book Adventure and register your child to get them started.

Sync Summer Audio-books

This is for older children, but Sync has a summer reading program just for teens that will get them two free audiobooks each week this summer.

Each week there will be a current young adult book as well as a classic title that teens will be able to download for free through the OverDrive app.


Chuck E. Cheese 10 Tokens

Chuck E. Cheese has a summer reading program where kids can earn free 10 Chuck E. Cheese tokens for reading each day for 2 weeks.


Regal's Summer Movie Express 2018

Regal movie theaters (as well as United Artists and Edwards theaters) are showing almost free summer movies for kids June through August in 2018.

Showtimes are 10:00 a.m. every Tuesday and Wednesday and cost $1. There's a full listing of Regal's summer movies for kids so you can plan out which ones you want to see. The movie theater in Douglasville Mall and Carrollton is a Regal.

AmStar Summer Kid Flicks

For $4.00 you get a box of popcorn, a kid soda, and a ticket. This is the movie theater in the Oxford Mall.

Kids Bowl For Free

Don't forget to sign up for free bowling everyday.


Atlanta Braves Tickets

Don't forget to use your paper to sign up for free Atlanta Braves tickets if you received one at your Award Ceremony.

Home Depot Kids Workshop

Home Depot has workshops where kids build during the summer. Check with your local Home Depot to see the times and projects. It is usually on the first Saturday of the month, but may be different during the summer.

Six Flags Read to Succeed

Don't forget to use that Six Flags Ticket you were given at the end of school for reading.

Chick Fil A Dress Like A Cow

July 10th dress like a cow and get a free entree.

West Georgia and Jacksonville State University Camps

Not sure of the schedules. Jacksonville may be different this year because of the storm damage.

Anniston Museum of Natural History

The museum has many special presentations on days throughout the summer. Check the website to see a list.
