Arnold Elementary is a registered Cambridge International School!
So what does that mean?
Arnold Elementary is part of an international group of schools that help students develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning. Cambridge International students become Confident, Responsible, Reflective, Innovative, and Engaged learners who will be ready to tackle the demands of tomorrow's world and capable of shaping a better world for the future.
The Cambridge Teacher and Learner Attributes, a key component of the Cambridge program.
How will my child develop these attributes?
The Cambridge Teacher and Learner Attributes are key to the development of effective learning habits. Cambridge learners develop these attributes through practice in different contexts using the Global Perspectives and core content curriculum as well as teachers and staff demonstrating and referencing these attributes daily.
Cambridge Primary Global Perspectives
Global Perspectives is a course that develop the skills of Research, Analysis, Evaluation, Communication, Collaboration and Reflection. This is accomplished using grade specific "Challenges" that focus on topics relevant to our world. Some of the topics include: Working Together, Looking After our World, Being Water Wise, Recycling and Reducing waste, Keeping Safe, A Healthy Diet and Rich and Poor.
The emphasis of the Global Perspectives curriculum is on developing students' ability to "Think Critically" about a range of global issues where there is always more than one point of view. Through the development of these skills, Cambridge Learners establish an understanding of how people all over the world think and live and create their personal ideas of how to make our world a better place for everyone.
At Arnold Elementary, all Kindergarten through 5th grade classrooms offer the Cambridge Global Perspectives curriculum. Students will also be exposed to the Cambridge international experience through the Cambridge Primary Art and Design curriculum, the Cambridge Primary Music curriculum and the Cambridge Primary P.E. curriculum.
