What is an ELD Team?

The English Language Development (ELD) Team consists of a group of educators and administrators who are dedicated to the language development and growth of Multilingual Learners (MLs).  The ELD Team members collaborate to discuss best practices to help our linguistically diverse students obtain the academic English they will need to be successful throughout their school career.

In addition, the ELD Team serves as a support to fellow educators and families by collecting and communicating information in the best practices for ML students. This is accomplished by a contributing section in school newsletters, through professional development for teachers, and relaying information to the parents via school communication outlets and social media.

"What Do English Learners Need?"

Please take a moment to go read this wonderful article written by ESL Guru, Valentina Gonzalez.  Valentina uses her experiences as a former MLL to guide her teaching, and shares five simple areas where educators can help MLL students become more successful.
