The Clay Alumni/Legacy Scholarship Information
Any Clay High School senior (enrolled in the Clay Local School District the past two years) may apply for one of the Clay Legacy Scholarships to be awarded at graduation. To apply for the scholarship, use the below link. This year's deadline is March 31, 2024.

The fund has awarded over $100,000 to Clay High School graduates since being formed. This year's alumni banquet will be held on July 13, 2024, at Clay High School.
Clay Alumni Association Recognizes Individuals
Jean Moore was honored for her 30 years of service to the Clay Local School District
The Clay High School Alumni recently held its annual alumni banquet. The Clay High School Alumni Association honors a retired teacher each year. One year they honor a high school teacher and the next an elementary teacher. The Clay High School Alumni Association recently honored Norma Jean Moore at the annual alumni banquet. Moore was recognized for her 30 years of service to the Clay School System. Moore received her Bachelor of Science degree in Vocational Home Economics from Morehead (Ky.) State University in 1970. She went on to earn her Master of Arts from Ohio University in 1981. She came directly from college to Clay High School in 1970. She spent her entire teaching career at Clay retiring in 2000 with 30 years of service. Moore continues to substitute teach at Clay. Alumni President Charles Leonard presented Moore with her plaque recognizing her for outstanding and dedicated service to Clay School System.
Alumni Association Honors Harold Pack
The Clay High School Alumni Association honored Harold Pack for his 30 years of teaching in the Clay school system. Pack is a 1966 graduate of Clay High School. He later graduated from Ohio University and secured his Master’s degree from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. He completed postmaster classes at Ohio University, Marshall University, Rio Grande, and Miami University. Pack has received recognition for numerous accomplishments in the field of education. Clay Alumni President Charles Leonard presented a plague to Pack recognizing him for his dedication and excellence as a teacher in the Clay Township school system. Leonard stated it is rare for a person to graduate from his high school and then return after college and spend his entire teaching career in the same school system.
Dave and Jean Leightenheimer Honored for Years of Service
The Clay High School Alumni Association honored former Clay School faculty members Dave and Jean Leightenheimer at their recent Alumni Banquet. Mr. Leightenheimer taught for 29 years in the Clay Local School District. Mrs. Leightenheimer taught for 19 years in the system as well. Charles Leonard, President of the Clay Alumni Association, presented each of the Leightenheimers with a plaque recognizing their dedicated service to the Clay School District. Mr. Leonard stated it is dedicated teachers like the Leightenheimers that has helped make the Clay School System the strong education force it is today.
