Our Chromebooks have built-in accessibility features that can be REALLY beneficial for some of our students. These options are: text to speech (read everything on the screen or select certain sections), high contrast mode to help students with dyslexia, dictation tools, screen magnifiers, and automatic clicks for the keyboard. For a fun tool - the onscreen keyboard has the emoji keyboard, a scribble tool that will turn writing to text, and more dictation tools.
➡️ SPECIAL NOTE ⬅️
Please go through the presentation below to learn how to turn on accessibility features on our Chromebooks - this process is slightly different than many tutorials show you. Also, some more advance features may need turned on at the admin level. Please reach out to Leslie or Dianna if you find a feature that you need additional assistance with.
The document embedded below has all the tutorials and information to help you learn about these fabulous features. To access the links you'll need to create a FREE Indiana eLearning Lab account. There are a lot of other wonderful resources available from them so just follow the prompts you're given to get your account up and going.
