The Battle of the Books is an exciting program that encourages a love of books and reading. Teams of fourth and/or fifth graders will read books chosen by their librarians and then compete in a battle of answering questions in a quiz show format. Each team will consist of three to five students with an adult coach(es)/advisor(s).

Clarkston Schools is asking that Battle Coaches be volunteer fingerprinted at the Clarkston Community Schools Administration Building. All coaches must be fingerprinted under the school code at their earliest convenience.

Appointments can be made between 8 am and 4pm by calling Amy Walsh at (248) 623-5400.

Thank you for your time coaching our students! Although a minor inconvenience, student safety is always the Clarkston Schools upmost priority. If you have any questions, please contact Laura Cadreau at

If a coach or volunteer is a current CCS employee, they do not need to be fingerprinted.

The final CCS District Battle will be Thursday, March 14th at 6:00 pm at Springfield Plains Elementary. The top two teams from each school will advance to the finals.
