Introduction
Welcome! I am starting my tenth year as the elementary (K-6) art teacher at Clarke. During this time, I have enjoyed getting to know my 750+ students and their families. My favorite part about teaching art is watching students explore new materials and learn more about themselves and their abilities as they create. This year, I see my kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th on a five day cycle (days 1-5). My fourth graders are on a six-day color schedule. Once a year, each child will have an artwork showcased at an art show located in the old gym. The Kindergarten-3rd grade art show is during fall conferences, and 4th-6th grades will be displayed in the spring.
Personal Life
Family, faith, service, and learning have always been integral in my life. I grew up on a dairy farm near Guthrie Center, Iowa. After graduation, I attended Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where I earned bachelor's degrees in Art and Art Education (K-12). After graduation, I came to Osceola and began teaching at Clarke. During this time, I finished my Master's of Education with an emphasis on Management in the Inclusive Classroom through Graceland University.
My husband Brian and I live in Osceola with our daughters Hannah and Madalyn. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, walking, playing with my daughters, and volunteering.
