Lauren McElhannon, Ed.S., LPC

I was born and raised in Athens and am a triple dawg (UGA BS, MEd, EdS)! I live in Athens with my family and many pets and enjoy spending time outside. My journey as a school counselor started at David C. Barrow Elementary School in 2002. I have enjoyed growing and changing along with our school, staff and families. It's a pleasure to work as a school counselor at Barrow School and I hope you will reach out as needed.

Mission

The school counseling program at David C. Barrow Elementary School will provide support, guidance and services to the students, families and staff in order to help remove barriers that could impede students’ academic success. The school counseling staff will serve as partners in collaborating and advocating for the success of all students.

Vision/Hopes and Dreams

Students will be empowered to challenge themselves and will gain skills to become lifelong learners. Students will graduate high school college and/or career/workforce ready. Student will continue to grow personally and will contribute to society with compassion and pride in an ever-changing world.
