Lefebvre Bel Opera
My thanks to Patrick Norton for giving me the opportunity to review this clarinet!
Bore LH joint top: 14.8mm
Bore LH joint at bottom: 14.8mm
Intonation summary: This is quite usable intonation. Instead of sharp notes in the chalumeau, we have flat notes in the clarion. It would be possible to undercut the holes to improve that.
Key work quality: The keys don’t shine up all that bright. The crow foot is not very thick. This is just the standard quality for clarinets of the time, which would probably have been in the 1930s.
This clarinet is most appropriate for: beginning students to intermediate players
Condition issues noted: Two chips were fixed on either end of the LH joint.
