Class overview
Algebra 1 follows the South Carolina Algebra 1 Math Standards. These standards can be found at https://ed.sc.gov/sites/scdoe/assets/File/tests/high/eocep/2015-16-Print-SCCCR-Algebra1Stands.pdf. Algebra 1 is a South Carolina End of Course class. This means that students will be taking a state EOC test at the end of the semester that counts as 20% of their overall grade.
The following key concepts will be taught: Arithmetic with Polynomials and Rational Expressions, Creating Equations, Reasoning with Equations and Inequalities, Structure and Expressions, Building Functions, Interpreting Functions, Linear, Quadratic and Exponential Functions, Quantities, Real Number System, and Interpreting Data.
