Christmas raffle - £940
On Friday 11 December, the Christmas raffle was drawn live on YouTube by our Esher House Captain. There were some wonderful prizes, which had kindly been donated by our parents and local businesses, for the full list click here.
Bubble Christmas Fair - £420.30
On Wednesday 16 December The Bubble Christmas Fair will be held in each year group during the school day. It will include hook a cracker, lucky dip, decorate a biscuit, guess the number of sweets and name the Cushy cuddly toy. Tickets cost £5 and can be purchased through ParentPay.
The Elf Holiday pack - £660.54
The school elves have been very busy creating over 80 Elf Holiday Packs to entertain your children over the holidays. It contains over 30 different puzzles and art activities.
Christmas hoop workshop - £140
On 1 December 17 parents joined Julie Davies the florist for our first ever virtual Scandi-inspired Christmas door wreath workshop and made some beautifully festive creations.
Ceramica Christmas Craft kits - £444
The PTA are very excited to announce a joint creative venture with a wonderful local business named Ceramica in Claygate. Ceramica has made specially for Claremont Pre-Prep and Nursery School a Christmas creative kit. The kit contains 2 tree decorations, a strip of 6 paints and varnish to complete their professional looking decorations. We have been amazed by the response for this event, as 111 children will be busy making their Ceramica festive craft kits in school next week. All kits will be sent home with the children on Friday 11 December.
Children in Need - £1,175
We are delighted to announce that the Pre-Prep and Nursery School have raised a fantastic amount in support of BBC Children in Need following their Naturewatch week fancy dress day on Friday 13 November.
The fundraiser was the finale to an exciting week in the Pre-Prep and Nursery full of activities designed to inspire and engage the children in the natural world. Children took part in everything from wildlife photography competitions, themed crafting, den building, campfires, wildlife spotting through using a night camera and a special Naturewatch walkathon around the school grounds.
Naturewatch walkathon - £2,923.50
Equipped with waterproofs and wellies, our Pre-Prep and Nursery children embarked excitedly upon the annual sponsored school walkathon on Wednesday 11 November; this year as part of our naturewatch week. Carrying spotter cards, our intrepid explorers adventured around the school’s leafy grounds, through the wild woods and up the hill to the Belvedere tower in search of local wildlife and natural habitats. The children were able to successfully identify many tree varieties on their journey, including our impressive redwood trees and caught glimpses of squirrels, birds and habitats belonging to foxes and badgers. Children also enjoyed finding and collecting natural materials including pine cones, colourful autumn leaves and bamboo twigs to take back to their classrooms.
Bag2School - £84
On Thursday 5 November the Pre-Prep and Nursery held their annual Bag2School collection, as well as raising funds for Claremont Fan Court School, it also helps the environment by helping to divert unwanted textiles away from landfill. A recent DEFRA report has shown that textile collection schemes are helping to reduce the volume of textiles discarded as municipal solid waste. However it is a fact that as a nation we still send 350,000 tonnes of textiles to landfill every year!
Christmas Cards - £226.70
In October the children all designed their personalised Christmas cards. The Cauliflower Group then printed these designs onto; Christmas cards, mugs, labels and gift wrap. All proceeds raised from the sale of these items will go towards supporting additional enrichment activities for the children at school.
