In preparation for this year's poetry contest, students explored many different aspects of poetry: voice, rhythm, rhyme, off-rhyme, repetition, alliteration, onomatopoeia and more. A selection of poems by the 8th grade and a few from 7th grade are posted here for your pleasure. Enjoy the students' honesty, their perspectives and their uses of language, rhythm and imagery.
