KAET

The Kentucky Academy for Equity in Teaching has partnered with CKEC to offer assistance to those students who need assistance in their teaching journey. The program is designed to offer three components to aid applicants entering the teaching profession.  Below are some resources that will help familiarize yourself with the process.

Services Offered

• Praxis Reimbursement

• Praxis preparation - Study.com  and 240 tutoring

• Mentorship

Praxis Reimbursement is available to all qualifying applicants for the Following tests:

• Core-Case

• Content specific tests

• PLT

Eligible applicants would be a US Citizen and  currently enrolled in a teacher education program  in Kentucky. The program was expanded on September 1, 2022 to also include school staff currently working toward initial certification in a public P-12 school within the state of Kentucky. 

Reimbursements for Retakes require 10 documented mentor hours. A second retake requires 25 documented mentor hours. Mentors are assigned upon request by CKEC. The maximum allowable amount for the initial core-case exam is $150.00.  This is the cost for the combined test.
