It is exciting to begin a new school year! I hope that you have had a restful and relaxing summer vacation. This year is special to me because although it is my eighth year at Parker Core Knowledge it is my fifth year in Kindergarten. I am so excited to be part of the PCK community and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with such a supportive team. I am THRILLED to be your child’s teacher this year. It is going to be a year full of learning and I can not wait to see what this year has in store for us.

I would like to introduce myself to you. My name is Debra Koppenhafer, and I am a native to Colorado.

I received my Bachelor’s Degree From Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska. This upcoming year will be my 37th year of teaching. I have experience teaching Kindergarten through third grade, and I have been a co-director of a daycare and preschool.

You are your child’s first, best, and most powerful teacher! I will be your partner for the next year in providing a class where they can grow in multiple ways. My objectives for this year will be that each child grows academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. I believe that the home/school connection is critical in having success at school. If you have any concerns throughout the year, please contact me at school or set up an appointment for a conference. The best way to reach me would be through email, or leave a voicemail on my extension at school. I will reply to either within 24 hours. My e-mail is dkoppenhafer@ckcs.net. I look forward to what this year has in store for us and to becoming more acquainted with you and your child. I hope you take the opportunity to volunteer in my classroom! It will be a pleasure working with your child this year!
