Response to Intervention (RTI)
If you would like to discuss your child's progress, please contact your child's teacher or the district special programs coordinator, Christina McDaniel, @ 940-855-7511 EXT 310
What is RTI?
RTI is a process put in place by each district to make sure that all students are provided with appropriate interventions when they are struggling in school. There are three tiers of RTI that aim at evening the playing field for students who need additional support.
RTI is not Section 504 or Special Education but the information discovered through the RTI process may help educators identify students with learning difficulties quickly. However, RTI is not meant to slow down the identification process for students needing additional services through Section 504, Dyslexia, or Special Education.
