BELIEFS:

I believe that all students can make strides each year and it is our duty to provide these opportunities for all students. We can unlock the potential of every student through the use of research based instructional strategies and intervention.

I believe the parents and educators should work together to create a foundation for success by providing resources to facilitate their child’s academic growth.

I believe in educating teachers by disseminating information and offering practical advice on the identification of struggling students and the accommodations needed for success in the classroom.

I believe that educating the citizens of City View about the programs we provide will promote an informed and supportive community.

MISSION:

My mission is to ensure that all City View ISD students are receiving a free and appropriate education through Special Education, Section 504, and Dyslexia Services.

As a community of educators, we will prepare each student for success through innovative and engaging individualized instructional practices targeted to the individual needs of each student while encouraging continuous growth.

About me

My family and I relocated to the area in January 2019 from Denton Texas after being offered the job of "District Coordinator of Special Programs' at City View ISD. The decision to move my family was an easy one for me after the first interview with the educational leaders of the district and the tour of City View Jr./Sr. High School. When applying for leadership positions I was doing more than job searching; I was looking for a new home for my family. I knew I found this home in City View and am grateful that I have been given the opportunity to serve this community. My husband and two daughters were not sure about the move but made the 'leap of faith' with me. My daughter grew up from daycare to 8th grade going to another school district and asked us to consider allowing her to go back and graduate from there when the time came. We were prepared to make that work for our child but after only a month going to City View, she came home to tell us: "I want to graduate from City View" . It was at that point that I knew my family now realized what I already knew: City View is our home. I am here to stay and serve the community in any way I am needed.
I was offered the position of "Assistant Principal over Special Programs" for the 2019-2020 school year. After many discussions about what was best for the school and students, it was decided that because the 6th grade was moving to the Jr/Sr High that it was necessary to have two Principals, one over Junior High and one over Senior High with a shared Assistant Principal. In order to best coordinate this transition, I was offered the position of "Junior High Principal" starting in January 2020 to begin preparations for the 6th grade addition to the Junior High.
I began my teacher career in 2004. Since that time, I have taught: Algebra I, Math Models, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Mathematics, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Inclusion Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, UIL Academic Prep, and UIL One Act Play Prep I have coordinated UIL academics, directed MS OAP, served as grade level team leader, mathematics department head, student council sponsor, as well as freshman and senior class sponsor in my time as a teacher.
Thank you for welcoming me into your district and I am looking forward to a great career here!
Go Mustangs!
