BELIEFS:
I believe that all students can make strides each year and it is our duty to provide these opportunities for all students. We can unlock the potential of every student through the use of research based instructional strategies and intervention.
I believe the parents and educators should work together to create a foundation for success by providing resources to facilitate their child’s academic growth.
I believe in educating teachers by disseminating information and offering practical advice on the identification of struggling students and the accommodations needed for success in the classroom.
I believe that educating the citizens of City View about the programs we provide will promote an informed and supportive community.
MISSION:
My mission is to ensure that all City View ISD students are receiving a free and appropriate education through Special Education, Section 504, and Dyslexia Services.
As a community of educators, we will prepare each student for success through innovative and engaging individualized instructional practices targeted to the individual needs of each student while encouraging continuous growth.
About me
I was offered the position of "Assistant Principal over Special Programs" for the 2019-2020 school year. After many discussions about what was best for the school and students, it was decided that because the 6th grade was moving to the Jr/Sr High that it was necessary to have two Principals, one over Junior High and one over Senior High with a shared Assistant Principal. In order to best coordinate this transition, I was offered the position of "Junior High Principal" starting in January 2020 to begin preparations for the 6th grade addition to the Junior High.
I began my teacher career in 2004. Since that time, I have taught: Algebra I, Math Models, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Mathematics, 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Inclusion Mathematics, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, UIL Academic Prep, and UIL One Act Play Prep I have coordinated UIL academics, directed MS OAP, served as grade level team leader, mathematics department head, student council sponsor, as well as freshman and senior class sponsor in my time as a teacher.
Thank you for welcoming me into your district and I am looking forward to a great career here!
Go Mustangs!
