Here's what's coming up at City Chapel of Bremerton.

More Valuable Than the Sparrows (Luke 12:1-12)

Sunday Sermon

What would change if you stopped managing your image and just let yourself be known? This week we're in Luke 12:1-12, where Jesus pulls His disciples aside as the crowds press in and names the real danger — not the crowd, not the religious leaders, but the exhausting work of managing an image instead of living a life. He promises that nothing hidden stays hidden, and offers something better than performance: to be fully known, fully valued, and never forgotten. If you've ever been tired of keeping up appearances, this one's for you. Bring someone this week who could use the relief of not having to pretend anymore.

Knights Bounty

Blessingt the Staff and Students at Bremerton High School

God told the people of Israel while in exile to seek the peace and prosperity (shalom) of the city they were exiled to (Jer. 29:7). When the city finds its shalom, they would also experience shalom. While we await the coming of Jesus, we too can seek the peace and prosperity of our city to the glory of Jesus.

One way we plan to do this is by loving and encouraging the educators and administration at Bremerton High School (BHS). For the next few weeks, we will conduct a drive where you can bring non perishable treats and goodies (individually packaged sweet and salty snacks, bars, crackers, nuts, drinks, whatever you think they might enjoy, etc) to bless the BHS staff and administration, helping them start the year off right! We will compile what we have gathered and deliver it on the first day of school, letting them know we are thinking of them and praying for them as they start the new school year.

Starting Sunday, September 5 we will have space available in the foyer to drop off goods. Look for a card that you can sign giving an encouraging word to our friends at BHS.

The Bremerton High School staff have a massive impact on our local youth as in most cases they spend more hours with them than their families! Let’s support them as they educate and shape the youth in our community.

Praying and Fasting for August

We Want to Hear What You Heard!

Thank you to everyone who fasted and prayed with us throughout August. Now we want to hear from you. As the elders discern next steps around a Youth Pastor/Director or a Pastor/Director of Intergenerational Discipleship, your voice is part of that process — this isn't a decision we want to make in a room by ourselves.

Take a few minutes this week to fill out this short form with the link below. We're really asking one question: "What did you sense the Lord saying during this season of prayer and fasting?" However brief or however developed, we want to hear it.
Please respond by September 20. We'll bring what we're hearing — from you and from our own time seeking the Lord — together, and share where things stand by October 1.
Thank you for walking through this with us. We believe He's leading, and we want to follow well.

Community Groups are Relaunching this Fall

Find a group near you!

You weren't meant to walk this out alone. This fall, Community Groups are relaunching, and there is a seat for you!

A Community Group is a small circle of people who will open up God's Word with you, walk alongside you in real life, speak truth when you need to hear it, and cheer you on whe you are weary. It's relationships that go deeper than Sunday mornings - people who know you, love you, and are pursuing Christ right beside you.

Wherever you re in your walk with Jesus, this is a place to belong, grow and be known. Groups meet on different nights throughout the week at locations all over the county. Check the church website for dates, times and locations near you, then sign up and get connected. See the "Weekly Events & More," below for the up to date information for each group.

City Youth is Back

Tuesday, September 8

City Students! Get ready as City Youth kicks back off on Tuesday, September 8th at 6:00 PM at the church building. It's going to be a great year!

Come hungry, dinner is on us, provided by our amazing Community Groups. After dinner each week we will jump into games, laughs, and some friendly chaos, followed by real talk in the Word and time to draw close to God and each other. This is a place to be yourself, make real friends, ask hard questions, and figure out what it looks like to follow Jesus together. Bring a friend, bring your questions. Come as you are.

See you Tuesday, September 8th at 6 PM!

Mom's Morning Out

New Outreach Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity to serve moms in our community, especially those whose husbands are deployed. Beginning September 9, 2026, we’ll offer three hours of free childcare the second Wednesday of each month at the church. We’ll welcome infants to pre-school aged children from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and provide care for them while their moms get 3 hours to spend as they like. More details are forthcoming; what we need right now are volunteers to care for the children. Your commitment can be for one or many sessions. Please click the link below to indicate your interest.

Prayer Requests

Request for Prayer

Walking through life's difficulties is never easy. If you're facing a challenging situation and need prayer support, we're here for you. We especially want to pray for the friends and loved ones of active military members, so please let us know who we can be praying for. Simply email your confidential prayer request to prayer@citychapel.cc. Your request will be shared with our dedicated prayer team, who will lift you up in prayer before the Lord who loves us and hears all our concerns. As a church family, we believe it's important to walk alongside one another and lay our burdens before God together. You can rest assured that all prayer requests remain completely confidential within the prayer team. We're grateful for the privilege of praying for you during this season.
