Fruity

My social issue is directed towards a more modern problem, dealing with homophobia. The reason behind me naming my artwork “Fruity” is because of a term that is often used to describe a situation when an individual feels attraction that corresponds to the lgbtq spectrum. Ex: “That's kinda fruity”. I’ve noticed a lot on social media, people disregarding, saying, and doing brutal things towards the individuals who don’t agree. I decided to play my part and at least attempt to spread some awareness in whatever possible ways I can.

Social awareness is important because this is the definition of spreading information to people, like important issues, interesting news, crucial topics and such. Art is a form that can be morphed and in any way the creator would want it to. People can place specific meanings in their artworks by shaping it into a picture of their choice. Just like how speeches and quotes can change one’s perspective with vocabulary, art can also dramatically change a person’s thoughts and feelings through (most of the time) visuals. The artist's role/job or purpose is to make art.
