We keep in touch with close ones who live far away in a variety of ways. There are so many things and moments that we might want to share with them. Flux VR allows us to not only stay in touch, but to also create shared memories together, despite the physical distance.
The concept is to include Flux VR as a Hubs feature that makes the transition between physical and virtual reality frictionless. Reducing friction may create a sense of permeability, creating ease and room for new explorations of the Hubs space.
We think it can serve as an especially rich touchpoint between loved ones who want to keep in touch and are separated by physical proximity. Flux VR would allow Hubs to be accessed very naturally from the physical world, and people can use their physical devices to curate content within Hubs, without necessarily having to be inside Hubs first. They can do this by selecting content from their device, and sharing it directly to Hubs, which creates a Room with the content spawned inside of it. They can then share the link to the Hubs Room with friends via native sharing platforms. We imagine that the sense of permeability would be achieved if there is a frictionless experience of placing content into Hubs from physical devices, as well being able to access communication platforms on someone's physical device from within Hubs.
Additionally, while people are inside of Hubs, we imagine that they can contact others who might be in other Hubs rooms, creating a rich intra-Hubs communication system to invite each other to spaces or to explore other friends' spaces.
In this way, adding Flux VR to Hubs is a way of strengthening communication and shared experiences between friends, family and loved ones.
